LONG BEACH — Boat slip tenants in Long Beach marinas may get a rent hike, if the Long Beach City Council approves a Marine Advisory Commission recommendation to raise slip fees by .5 percent for boaters using older wooden docks and by 2.224 percent for boaters using concrete docks. The 2.224 percent increase corresponds to the Consumer Price Index (CPI).
Commissioners voted several times on five options provided by Marine Bureau manager Mark Sandoval during a May 9 meeting. The advisory group pondered how to ensure that the marina maintains adequate funding for future upgrades while not imposing too big of an increase on local boaters.
